Brief Bio: 

Thelma Young is a human rights activist and media maker whose work focuses on participatory media and social change. Based in New York City, and calling the South Bronx home, she is finishing her MA Media Studies and is currently working with the FemTechNet project. She spent 7 years with Burma's democracy movement doing communications and advocacy and worked on a variety of efforts from mapping election violations, making documentaries, gathering oral histories and organizing international campaigns.
