I am currently a PhD student in rhetoric and composition with a focus on feminist disability studies and visual rhetoric, and sports rhetoric. I earned my MA in English from the University of South Florida in 2014 and her BA in English from the University of Tampa in 2012. As a graduate teaching assistant, I have taught first-year composition, technical writing for health science majors, and co-taught the graduate practicum on teaching composition. I have also served as the Junior Writing Program Administrator to the First-Year Writing Program and the Assistant Director of Graduate Rhetoric and Composition under the direction of Dr. Meredith Johnson.
Outside of academia, I am a competitive Muay Thai fighter, a comic book writer, and a sports blogger. My investment in sports, and my own role as an athlete in a male-dominated combat sport, is the basis for my dissertation research on gender, bodily rhetoric, and women's participation in combat sports.
