Brief Bio: 

Christopher is a PhD candidate in the Department of Film and Media at the University of California, Berkeley. An active member of the Berkeley Center for New Media, Chris has served on the Academic and Executive Committee, helped organize conferences and symposia related to the study of new media, and has led the New Media Working Group. His dissertation explores how analogizing fantasy and play can generate new ways of thinking about the relationship between cinema, videogames and other leisure technologies. He has published an article titled “Tether and Accretions: Fantasy as Form in Videogames” in Games and Culture on the conscious fantasies that combine (and recur) in the genre of the RPG.
