Personal Information
Sharon evaluates and implements emerging learning technologies to enhance the learning experience. She has a longstanding interest in developing best practices for the hybrid learning environments and the use of multimedia in teaching and learning.
Some recent projects Sharon has worked on include:
- The use of 360-degree videos to help teacher candidates experience what it might be like to live with a visual impairment and to think about teaching strategies for more inclusive education (http://ets.educ.ubc.ca/simulating-visual-impairments-in-360-degrees/).
- The development of a MOOC "Reconciliation Through Ingenious Education" that reached over 5000 students (https://www.edx.org/course/reconciliation-through-indigenous-ubcx-indedu200x-0).
