Personal Information
My work focuses on the intersection between the cultural imagination and medical understandings of the body. I am particularly interested in the ways that varying models of the female reproductive body influence women’s understandings of their own bodies as well as our ability to imagine alternate forms and outcomes of reproduction. My current project, which looks at the impact of the history of embryological models on cultural forms, examines these relationships in a variety of media, including feminist theory, online health discussion boards, and scientific discourse.
