Stephen Roller is a senior in Computer Science at North Carolina State University. In addition to his studies, he is working with/on the PackPulse project, a student led effort to lower energy usage at NCSU through awareness. He is also working with the NCSU Digital Games Research Center to develop automated systems for creating machinima (cinematic video sequences rendered using a 3D game engine) and narrative pattern detectors. He also works to build toolsets for and applications in a range of 3D commercial game engines. During the summer of 2009, Stephen was a participant in the NCSU DesignTech project, an NSF-funded effort to engage computer science and design undergraduates in cross-disciplinary research around games and Web 2.0 technologies. Stephen will graduate in May 2010.
