Full Bio:

Got my degree in Victorian Lit from Michigan State in 1986, worked for Boyd & Fraser Publishing Company, making college-level computer-science and data-processing textbooks. One achievement: we were the first team anybody had heard of who wanted to typeset from the author's disks; this, in the mid-1980s. Got a tenure-track position in the English department at U Mass Lowell, supporting the Editing and Publishing track. Came to St. Cloud State University in 1993, specializing in Computers and English (to include both lit and rhetoric/writing), and joined the computers and writing online community, a real blessing for me. Went into the administration in 1997 and as of 2010 am now back on the faculty, teaching lit, with an orientation to the analysis of the materiality of the texts and to digital humanities, and digital rhetorics now. Here is my real passion, though, right now: http://socialvictorians.stcloudstate.edu. I'm using TEI (the flavor of xml developed for marking up historical documents to make anthologies of eye-witness accounts of social events in and around London, 1880-1901.
