Samara Hayley Steele, MFA
Samara Hayley Steele, MFA, is a PhD candidate in Cultural Studies at UC Davis, with DEs in STS and Performance Studies. Her work includes educational research into classroom games as a Project Director for the ModLab. She is also an Advanced Research Affiliate with the Humanities and Critical Code Studies (HaCCS) Lab at the University of Southern California. She has been a practitioner, gamerunner, and maker of analog games since 2002, and her collaborative works include Thermophiles in Love (2016) and Destination Wedding 2070 (2019). She participated in the Critical Code Studies Working Group (CCSWG) in 2016 and 2018, and was a 2018-2020 HASTAC Scholar Fellow. She received an MFA in Creative Writing from Portland State University in 2014.
