Brief Bio: 

I am an Assistant Professor of English, specializing in World and Postcolonial Literature at St. Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania. I received my MA in English studies with emphasis in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Louisville, KY, and my MFA in Creative Writing with emphasis in Poetry from Indiana University Bloomington. I also graduated with my PhD in English from Indiana University Bloomington in 2014. I am currently working on revising and expanding my dissertation into a manuscript, tentatively titled Contesting Communist Motherhood: The Politics of Gender, Ethnicity, and Identity in Contemporary Romanian-American Literature and Culture. My scholarly work has appeared in Women’s Studies Quarterly and Neophilologus. I am also a poet, and my poetry was published in Sojourn, The Portland Review, The Madison Review, Barnwood International, and Harpur Palate. Lastly, my translation of Matei Visniec’s “Teeth” from Romanian into English was nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
