My name is Rob Blades. I was born in Kingston, Ontario and grew up in a small town, Napanee. In 2006, I moved to South Korea for four years - my entire high school career - for my father's work. Living overseas was a great experience and I learned a lot about my interactions in the world while in Seoul.
I am currently a fourth year student at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. I major in History with a minor in Philosophy. Specifically, my interests lie in a connection between historical study and the phenomenology that governs our interactions in the study of the past.
It was at Carleton that Dr. Shawn Graham sparked my interest in Digital Humanities. For several years, I have worked with him on many different projects and research in the field of Digital History. The most long-standing project of which is Looted Heritage, mapping the illegal antiquities trade.
