Though I've worn many hats, I have been an educator for most of my adult life. In the past two decades, I have taught Math, Reading, Writing and Science to hundreds of K-12 students and have helped as many prepare for any of ten standardized exams including SAT, ACT, and NYS Regents. My research interest builds on my undergraduate thesis titled EduRenati: how a 21st century education renaissance can inspire our best lives. In it, I posit that an education model based on the exploration and sharing of human experiences offers two advantages over traditional pedagogy: it is more liberated (from classrooms, lectures, and standardized tests) hence more exciting and engaging, and it inspires active social engagement and the promotion of moral and social ideals (such as non-discrimination and environmental sensitivity).
