Maria Martin

I am a native of Cleveland Ohio and I have a background in Classics. I can read Latin and I love ancient history but am now interested in African women's history of the 19th century. I am currently a Doctoral Student in African American and African Studies at Michigan State University. I recently won a Fulbright DDRA to travel to Nigeria for dissertation research on women's activism where I also gained more proficiency in the Yoruba language. In my spare time I love to do yoga and pilates, boxing, and keep up with the latest happenings in astronomy and archaeology.
