DML Playlists for Learning - Michael Cordero started as a Teaching Artist with Urban Arts Partnership in 2008 and is currently the Manager of Educational technology and Media. Michael has designed and coordinated numerous youth based art programs at UAP. His youth’s award-winning work has been featured in numerous film festivals and youth media conferences. Michael was also finalist in the recent XQ America Super School Challenge.
DML Playlists for Learning - Mikey is lead for the team designing the Creative Careers Playlist for LRNG Platform in the recent DML 6 Competition winners.
Mikey Cordero has served for the last 3 years as Manager of Educational Technology and Media at Urban Arts Partnership, an arts education non-profit in New York City.
Previously, he has provided program development support as a Program Coordinator for their 3rd space program for High School students, the Academy at UAP and the Adobe Youth Voices program additionally providing Youth Digital Media professional development for educators. He has also have served as a teaching artist since 2007.
Mikey has formulated a large knowledge base in radical youth pedagogy and youth development. He has a strong belief in youth agency and inclusion. He has designed and developed curriculum for high school students with a focus on allowing technology and media to be used as empowerment tools to supplement their growth, learning and sharing. Mikey has worked directly with underrepresented youth in NYC for over 10 years.
