Meagan is a current doctoral student at New York University in the Educational Communication and Technology program. She works as a research assistant at the CREATE lab, as part of the Games for Learning Institute (G4Li). Previously, Meagan completed her Master’s Degree at NYU in ECT while working with Sesame Workshop’s Education, Research and Outreach Group as a freelance researcher, and with the Joan Ganz Cooney Center as a Research and Web Assistant. In that time, she contributed to studies in television and digital media, including assessment of learning and usability on games designed for the web, iTouch and iPad, as well as the Nintendo Wii. Her research interests include family learning, literacy learning in digital environments, interaction design for gestural interfaces, and most recently, the role of media in the development of executive functions. Meagan also has a bachelor's degree in Film Studies from UC Berkeley, and spent a few years working in film development and production in the entertainment industry before moving to New York.
