Lucia Tralli is currently Adjunct Professor at AUR - The American University of Rome, where she teaches Media and Gender, Introduction to Visual Culture and Explorations in Cultural Studies. Her main research focus is the interconnections between media and gender studies, with a specific focus on fan culture, web culture, and contemporary pop culture. She received a Ph.D. at the Visual, Performing and Media Arts Department at the University of Bologna in 2014. Her dissertation "Vidding Grrls. Audiovisual Remix Practices in Contemporary Digital Culture" focuses on fan vidding and gender-related issues in audiovisual remix practices. Besides, she has extensively collaborated with the Home Movies National Film Archive in Bologna and has extensive experience on film archives and amateur films.
