Brief Bio:

I am an Australian botanist, teaching at Edith Cowan University in Western Australia. My research field is plant systematics and evolution, specialising in the fabulous plant diversity in Australia's southern west (a global biodiversity hotspot). I teach biology, botany, evolution and conservation biology to students across the full range from students exiting high school to postgraduates. My research and teaching practise is informed by a life spent living on the edge- in the most isolated capital city in the world, on the margin of a continent that is mostly desert, research that crosses between fields of study, organisms that teeter on the precipice of extinction.
