Personal Information
I love playing in the giant sandbox that is the Emerging Media and Communication program at University of Texas, Dallas. As an assistant professor of EMAC, my research and teaching interests center on technology and social media in relation to art, identity, politics, and education. I am also the editor of The Spiral Dance, a blog on issues of gender in media and technology. You can find me as "purplekimchi" on Twitter.
I am an Assistant Professor of Emerging Media and Communication at the University of Texas, Dallas. My research and teaching interests center on technology and social media in relation to art, identity, politics, and education. I am interested in alternative models of scholarship and teaching and love that the EMAC program allows me to explore both. My current research project is entitled, Media Epidemics: Viral Structures in Literature and New Media. I am also working closely with a group of graduate students on a project called "Fashioning Circuits," that explores the intersections between emerging media and fashion. I am a reviewer for Digital Humanities Quarterly, have been an active participant in The Transliteracies Project and am an editorial member of The Agrippa Files: An Online Archive of Agrippa (the book of the dead).
