Full Bio:

My name is Kendra, and I am an MLIS/DH graduate student at the University of Alberta. I am particularly interested in social (justice-oriented) relationships and processes mediated and negotiated in digital space. I bring critical, anti-oppressive, feminist analysis and praxis into my academic, community, and creative work.

My research sits at the intersections of queer, mad, and critical disability theory and examines the imagination enabling functions of social media narration practices. Further, I am interested in 'public' processes of grief and healing that are moderated through and by digital spaces.

As someone deeply committed to her communities of choice, I strongly believe in praxis and am interested in having my academic work be both informed by and informing of my community work. I am a multi-media artist, but in particular, I am interested in sound. I am drawn to soundscape, drone, and experimental music and use both conventional and unconventional technologies to create and perform.

I am a mad, queer, feminist who is surviving grad school largely due to the chocolate, banana, peanut butter flavour triangle and my amazing friends.
