MA Student/Teaching Assistant
I am a second year MA student in the Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication program at the University of Texas at Dallas, and I have a B.S. in entomology from Texas A&M University. My research engages science and technology studies, border studies, eco feminism, surveillance studies, animal studies, and labor studies. Currently, I am investigating the material consequences of the United States-Mexico border on the experiences of the monarch butterfly through an investigation into activities such as migration monitoring and tracking via drones, as well as exploring the gendered stereotypes and gendered politics of labor surrounding the monarch and monarch conservation efforts.
