Juliana Seroa da Motta Lugao
Juliana received a B.A. in Communications and Journalism from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 2006. She worked as a journalist and in book publishing before returning to the academic world. She completed a M.A in Literary Studies in Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro in 2012 with a thesis about the German author Monika Maron’s book Pawels Briefe (Pavels Letters) and the questions of memory, visual culture and affection. With the same theoretical interests, along with critical theory, her research is now shifting to the Lusophone and Hispanic subjects in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese in Northwestern University.
