Ph.D. Candidate in English and Women's & Gender Studies, Louisiana State University
Jordan Von Cannon is a PhD candidate in English at Louisiana State University. She received her M.A. in 2011 from the University of Kansas and will receive her PhD in 2016 from LSU. Her dissertation, Idling Women: The Domestic Bildungsroman and the American City, 1830-1900, traces narratives of female non-development in 19th-century American city novels. She currently serves as the Graduate Assistant in LSU's first Digital Scholarhsip Lab researching digital pedagogies and innovative tools for the humanities classroom. In 2011, she began work on a digital magazine collection of Edgar A. Poe’s The Broadway Journal under the direction of Professors J. Gerald Kennedy and Lauren Coats. She is currently working on a digital map project on Catharine Sedgwick's tour abroad.
