I'm a Canada Research Chair in Digital Humanities and work in the Department of History at Brock University. My major foray into digital history was the 3D Virtual Buildings Project, which does two things. It teaches students to generate models of heritage structures using a combination of Sanborn Maps and photographs, and it uses the model construction process to teach students about the historian's craft. I plan to create a 2.0 version this year based on Google Sketchup to enable more historians to use the resource. I'm also interested in Text Analysis, Augmented Reality, GIS and Agent Based Modeling as applications to support analysis, expression and pedagogy in history.
