I am a fifth-year graduate student in the interdisciplinary PhD program at Emory University's Graduate Institute of the Liberal Arts. My dissertation examines the relationship of hospice care to end-of-life decision-making. Along with my colleague, Claire Clark, I am the founder of the soon-to-be-launched website Biopolitics. The site features hour-long video dialogues between scholars on topics at the intersection of medicine and politics. Each dialogue is then supplemented by commentaries from other scholars--we call them "Annotations"--as well as an extended bibliography. The goal of the project is to foster dialogue within different academic disciplines, as well as between the academy and the public sphere. We also hope that it will be a useful teaching tool for introducing students to complex subjects.
