Personal Information
I am a second-year phd student researching contemporary postcolonial historical fiction in Nigeria, New Zealand and Australia. My work focuses on the intersections of historiography and fictional invention as they contribute to or contest the construction of imagined communities, both national and transnational. I am interested in questions of historical representation, nationalism and cosmopolitanism, history wars, and the representation of fragmented, contested moments of the national past. In 2006 I completed a double honours degree in history and English at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand.
