I am a Doctoral Academy Fellow in the Curriculum and Instruction Department at the University of Arkansas. Prior to working in Fayetteville I was a sixth grade social studies, science, and literacy teacher in Bentonville. I earned my Master's in Educational Leadership from the University of Arkansas in 2012. Before that, I graduated from Missouri Southern State University with a Bachelors in Education. My research interests include historical significance, teacher education, and the intersectionality of gender as it can be used as a pedagogical approach to social studies education.
