Daniel Fandino is a first year PhD student with the Department of History at Michigan State University. His research interests center primarily on on the study of U.S. – Japanese relations and the intersection of nationalism, popular culture and technology.

Full Bio: 

Daniel Fandino is a first year PhD student with the Department of History at Michigan State University. His research interests center primarily on on the study of U.S. – Japanese relations and the intersection of nationalism, popular culture and technology. Daniel is also the editor of the Popular Culture network for H-Net: Humanities and Social Science Online.

Daniel's other interest include the history of computer and console gaming, pedagogy, podcasting, and Amercan fandom. His most recent work is a forthcoming chapter in the edited volume Virtual Tourism: Ghost Roads entitled “Remembering Fictional History and Virtual War in Eve Online.”

Before starting at Michigan State, Daniel lived in Tokyo, Taipei and Shanghai.
