Personal Information

Brief Bio:

I am a doctoral candidate in the History Department at Indiana University with a focus on medieval European history. I am currently engaged in researching and writing my dissertation, which will analyze the social and political networks of later early medieval popes (roughly ninth to eleventh centuries) through the medium of their letters. More broadly, my research interests include political culture, networks of power, and real and imagined spaces in late antique and early medieval Europe.

Prior to my matriculation at IU, I received an M.A. in medieval history from Western Michigan University in 2014, for which I wrote a thesis entitled "The Social and Cultural Meaning of Names in Late Antique Italy, 313-604". I also received B.A.s in HIstory and Latin from the same institution in 2011.
