Emilie Jabouin is a PhD student at Ryerson University in the Communication and Culture program. She is interested in feminist, decolonial theories and methodologies and is committed to black women's political historiography in Canada. Her research is at the intersection of history, political science, communication, and psychoanalysis. She has looked at various erasures in Canadian historical narratives; documented migrations and immigration histories in Canada; and explored the benefits of memory work as a tool of historical healing. She has also served for more than 7 years in grassroots women's organizations and is committed to community-based research through story-telling.
