Evan Buswell is a PhD student in Cultural Studies at the University of California at Davis. His work centers around the task of uncovering the influence of social organization on epistemic practices. Currently, he is investigating the relationship between the development of the form of the modern financial promise and the creation of algebraic notation and, ultimately, code. Evan received his master's degree in English from Portland State University and his bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of California at Santa Cruz. Before entering graduate school, he spent several years as a software architect and engineer.
