Dhanashree Thorat is a PhD student in the Department of English at the University of Florida. Her teaching and research areas are Postcolonial Studies, Digital Humanities, and Asian American Studies. Her doctoral research focuses on alterity in post-9/11 American nationalist projects.
At the University of Florida, she served as co-convener for the Digital Humanities Working Group, and co-ordinator for THATCamp Gainesville from 2013-2015. She is currently serving on the founding Executive Council of the Center for Digital Humanities, Pune, India. As part of her work, she consults on DH syllabus development, and plans introductory DH workshops in Pune, India.
She is part of the HASTAC Scholars cohort of 2015-2016.
