Personal Information

First name:
Celeste
Last name:
Â-Re
Brief Bio:

I am a PhD student at the University of South Carolina School of Library & Information Science. I believe we are influenced and oftentimes defined by the historic, aesthetic, social, and economic context of place and identity. As a Cultural Heritage Informatics fellow I am interested in identifying factors contributing to community sustainment, preservation, and perpetuation. As well as exploring applications of indigenous knowledge systems with new and emerging technologies. Through this line of investigation I would like to discover methods which develop the cultural ecology of communities challenged by urban editing and acculturation.
