I’m Bryce - a PhD Candidate in Communication Studies at the University of Oregon, and an instructor of Cultural and Linguistic Anthropology at Lane Community College. I broadly work in the areas of sound studies, feminist cultural studies, international communication, and historical anthropology. My dissertation research examines the history of listening and the social production of colonial space in Gibraltar, arguing that listening is one means for the reproduction of colonial lines of force in contemporary Gibraltar. Some of my other research interests include dinosaur culture, hip hop and jazz, video games, and academic politics. In addition to being a researcher, I’m also an active jazz bassist, and web mistress for fembotcollective.org.
