I am an interdisciplinary scholar and historian of Modern America and African Diasporic cultures. As Assistant Professor of Black World Studies and History at Miami University of Ohio, my teaching, writing, and service to the academy and broader communities are connected through my interest in how race, place, and power have shaped historical events and determine our place in the world today. My interest in art, politics, and biography as a methodological approach is the common theme in my current projects.
