At present, I am a Library Science student with an interest in Digital Humanities. This vast and rapidly growing field I feel is most applicable to history, my undergraduate major. In the future, I intend to pursue a PhD in history that would combine Digital Humanities with historical methodology. My interest in the Digital Humanities and Digital Scholarship, particularly this program, is currently focused on GIS Mapping and the possibilities that this presents to the field of history. HASTAC would provide the opportunity for me to dive deeply into this area and fully understand the role that it could play in the study of history and historical movements, particularly in medieval and early modern history, my area of particular interest. This opportunity would give me the chance to learn about GIS mapping and blog about it in detail, a resource that is sorely needed for many aspiring Digital Humanists and Digital Historians.
