As a 1981 graduate of Mayville State, it has always been my wish to return as faculty. I began my career in 1981 teaching middle and high school English and German. In 1989, the Christa McAuliffe Institute for Educational Technology selected five public school teachers from around the country to lead a cohort of other teachers in the study of the intersections of curriculum, technology, and learning, and I was lucky enough to be one of them.
At that time I was working with Oklahoma State University in coordinating and delivering a German class via satellite and using voice recognition in the language labs.
In 2000 I began working as an adjunct teaching dual credit English 110 and 120 via an interactive television system. I was hired as full-time faculty in the fall of 2015 and am enjoying being back home.
