Amy Patterson recently defended her dissertation "with distinction" to earn her PhD in Rhetorics, Communication, and Information Design at Clemson University. Her dissertation focuses on pedagogies of sonic agency and the connection between theater sound design and social change. Amy is based in NYC and most recently taught online Technical Writing in the Advanced Writing Program at Clemson. Previously, she was an associate dean at a community college in Wisconsin, where she taught composition and communication for several years.
Amy has been published in Computers and Composition Digital Press, Teaching English in the Two-Year College, the Journal of Civic Commitment, and Kairos Praxis Wiki. She earned her M.A. at Northwestern University and B.A. at the Missouri University of Science and Technology.
