Brief Bio: 

My name is Anne Ladyem McDivitt, and I am the Digital Humanities Librarian at the University of Alabama. My personal research and writing is on video games in the 1970s and 1980s, gender, and culture. I will be blogging both about my research experience, as well as about video games and video game culture that I experience along the way. I received my PhD from George Mason University in 2018 with a dissertation entitled “We Take Fun Seriously: The Creation of the Video Game Industry in the United States.” My BA and MA from the University of Central Florida in 2010 and 2013, with my thesis “I Play to Beat the Machine: Masculinity and the Video Game Industry in the United States.”
