Ahrash Bissell's work encompasses educational research and technology, with special focus on STEM disciplines, OER, and data-sharing. Currently, he is a Project Manager for the Monterey Institute for Technology and Education (MITE), as well as a consultant on innovation in education and science for several projects and organizations, including the Mozilla and William and Flora Hewlett Foundations and the Alexandria Archive Institute. Ahrash also sits on the boards for Peer 2 Peer University and Wikieducator. Prior positions include being the Executive Director of ccLearn at Creative Commons, the Assistant Director of the Academic Resource Center and a Research Associate in Biology at Duke University, and an Instructor at several universities. Ahrash has a Ph.D. in Biology (Evolutionary Genetics) from the University of Oregon and a BS in Biology from the University of California, San Diego.
