Visiting Assistant Professor of Queer Studies at Davidson College

Davidson College is seeking to hire a two-year Visiting Assistant Professor specializing in Queer Studies to teach in its Gender and Sexuality Studies program (discipline open). ( The successful candidate will teach five courses per year, including: three upper-level courses examining scholarly questions in queer and sexuality studies particular to the candidate’s home discipline; one introductory course for the GSS major (such as Introduction to Gender and Sexuality Studies or Feminist and Queer Theories, or another introductory level class of the candidate’s design); as well as one first-year writing course designed around issues of interest to both the candidate’s own disciplinary practitioners and wider readers. Appointment begins August 1, 2014. Candidates should have PhD or MFA in hand by the time of appointment.
