Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts at the New School invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Culture and Media in the department of Culture and Media to begin Fall 2016. Candidates must have a demonstrated facility in an area of cultural and media studies, using ethnographic, textual, theoretical, and/or historical methodologies. Desired areas of study include: (1) race, ethnicity, transnationalism; (2) culture, environment, technology; (3) gender & sexuality. Located in the heart of New York City, our department is a unique interdisciplinary program, combining critical theory, cultural studies, media studies, film theory, and video production for politically engaged liberal arts students. We are looking for an emerging scholar to help us strengthen the cultural studies side of the program, with a particular focus on “media,” broadly conceived.

Minimum Qualifications:            

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Cultural Studies, Media Studies, Comparative Literature, or any other allied discipline. Teaching experience preferred.
