Postdoctoral Scholar at the School of Information and Library Science at UNC-Chapel Hill
Position available immediately. Full information available here or see the preview below.
This is a one-year (potentially renewable to two) post-doc to work on a project that is focused on constructing scales and implementing a survey on middle schools, gender and career trajectories for computing majors and professions. We are looking into how gender schemas (as well as race and class) intersect with how middle school students interpret and consider computers and technology classes and careers.
Qualitative interviews have been completed and scale construction started. Next phases are surveys and analysis so you must have experience on those aspects, as well as a solid grasp of the literature on gender and computing.
Position available immediately, and people from groups underrepresented in higher education are especially invited to apply. The full-time position also comes with full benefits and publishing opportunities. The salary range is $45-50K. Please submit a CV and a paragraph on why you believe you are a good fit for this position, and how it may help further your own work and interests.
