Mapping Locations From Unstructured Data With ArcGIS LocateXT

Wednesday, January 20, 2021 - 12:00pm

Imagine being able to map every location mentioned in a novel or a set of documents–ArcGIS LocateXT provides the solution! This new solution from ESRI helps quickly distill location information from massive amounts of unstructured data. Uncover location data inside Microsoft Office documents; Adobe PDF documents; and XML, HTML, and text files and publish extractions on a map!

Prior GIS experience is helpful, but not required, for this workshop.

About the presenter: Dr. Diana Ter-Ghazaryan is a Research Associate at the FIU GIS Center, and has been teaching and researching with GIS for over 15 years. Her interests lie at the intersection of geospatial technology, geography and digital/spatial humanities.
