The School of Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication (ATEC) is the newest school at the University of Texas at Dallas. Created in 2015, ATEC offers multidisciplinary programs in emerging media arts, animation & games, critical media studies, and design & technology. Faculty include artists, designers, scientists, scholars, and reflective practitioners, who collaborate on the production of new knowledge that takes different forms: papers, books, funded research, installations, exhibits, animations, and games.
The Research Coordinator provides logistical support for activities such as lecture series, symposia, exhibitions, workshops, studio visits, and lab open houses. Additional responsibilities include maintaining databases of research opportunities, journal / conference submission calendar, and external events such as festivals, exhibitions, or lectures.
We seek candidates with the Ph.D. or advanced doctoral training in digital humanities, creative computation, or emerging media design. Candidates should have experience working in a research environments such as a lab or studio. Key skills required: project management, media content development, digital communication design, creative problem-solving.
