The Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT) at the University of Kentucky seeks to hire a Faculty Instructional Consultant with a focus in any of the following areas:
• hybrid course design and delivery,
• diversity and inclusive pedagogy,
• technology-enhanced learning and digital pedagogies,
• STEM education.
The applicant should have experience teaching in higher education, as well as working with faculty to integrate teaching strategies into their own programs and practices across the disciplines. The Faculty Instructional consultant will coach and advise faculty one-on-one, conduct workshops, and collaborate with a larger team in designing large-scale, college and university-wide initiatives that reimagine learning goals in light of the changing landscape of higher education. The successful applicant will assume a leadership role in envisioning how pedagogy can be enhanced in both traditional and technology-enhanced environments at the University of Kentucky.
The ideal candidate will have deep training, preferably a PhD or another terminal degree, in an academic discipline, specialization open. The appointment comes with the possibility of teaching, either in an academic discipline or in the Preparing Future Faculty program. Essential qualifications include: a demonstrated commitment to active learning; excellent writing, communication and public speaking skills; the ability to work effectively on a team; as well as a broad knowledge of the range of technological platforms and tools that can aid learning.
