Pacific University welcomes applications for the Director of Educational Technology and Curricular Innovation, an inaugural position at our institution. The Director will provide leadership and vision in the development of strategic approaches to the meaningful integration of technology into the educational environments at both the undergraduate and graduate level.  Centered in the Library, the Director will work collaboratively and effectively with faculty throughout the Universitys four colleges to design, develop, and implement courses and projects that enrich teaching and learning through the use of technology.  The Director will work with faculty and staff innovators to build networks of broad support for the potential of educational technology in online, hybrid, and traditional courses.  The Director consults closely with College Deans and Directors, University Information Services, and others across Pacifics campuses to achieve these goals.  This position reports to the University Librarian.
 
Responsibilities
        Provide leadership in developing strategic directions for enhancing teaching and learning through the integration of technology into the curriculum
        Provide pedagogical and technical consulting to faculty incorporating technology-enhanced materials into the curriculum and works collaboratively with faculty to design, develop, and create instructional content, courses. or projects
        Provide vision and innovation in the development of hybrid/blended and online curricula
        Plan, prepare and provide instruction and workshops for faculty on technology for use in their teaching and to strengthen the technology skills of faculty
        Assess instructional needs of faculty and develops sustainable programs to meet those needs
        Develop and maintain an online repository of resources to provide information on current best practices, innovations, and emerging trends
        Create learning resources for faculty and students (e.g. tutorials, interactive programs, websites) and promote sharing, reuse, remixing of resources
        Coordinate with University Information Systems to ensure adequate technology infrastructure to meet goals of technology-enhanced curricula
        Engage the academic community in the exploration, discussion, and assessment of educational technology and work collaboratively across the University to leverage and expand existing efforts into an intentional program of faculty support
        Maintain awareness of best practices, emerging technologies and new potentials in educational technology
        Participate in relevant University policy and planning committees and meetings
        Participate in regional and national forums that explore and promote the use of educational technology in higher education
 
Minimum Requirements
        Masters degree in instructional or educational technology or related field with emphasis on teacher education and development, educational technology, and learning and teaching theories
        2-5 years relevant professional experience, demonstrating increasing responsibilities
