Lumina Foundation, the Seeker for this Challenge, desires fully coded examples of a front-end user interface for deployment by community colleges.  The key requirement is that the interface should be organized and presented in a way that focuses on meeting the information needs of students, particularly those who are exploring a range of avenues of study.

This is a Reduction-to-Practice Challenge that requires a written proposal as well as delivery of a functional code for a website.  In addition to the Challenge award, the Seeker is very interested in further collaboration with the awarded Solver(s).

Challenge Overview

Lumina Foundation, the Seeker for this Challenge, desires fully coded examples of a front-end user interface for deployment by community colleges.  The key requirement is that the interface should be organized and presented in a way that focuses on meeting the information needs of students, particularly those who are exploring a range of avenues of study.

This is a Reduction-to-Practice Challenge that requires a written proposal as well as delivery of a functional code for a website.

AWARDS  For this Challenge, the Seeker guarantees they will make at least one award of $20,000.  They will also consider making additional awards of $15,000 to $20,000, up to a maximum of $100,000 in total awards, if multiple submissions contain unique design features that they would like to incorporate into a final product.  Finally, the Seeker is very interested in further collaboration with the awarded Solver(s) to pursue integration of their user interface with existing data systems used by open-enrollment colleges and institutions.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY  The Seeker only requires a non-exclusive license to the awarded solution(s).  For non-awarded submissions, full intellectual property rights will revert to the Solvers.
