Registration open: Designs on eLearning 2016 - Anxiety and Security

Colleagues are warmly invited to register for Designs on eLearning 2016: Anxiety and Security, an international conference in partnership with The New School, University of the Arts London (UAL), Penn State University and Texas State University. The conference will be hosted at The New School, New York City on 21 – 22 September 2016.

DeL brings together a diverse community of practitioners, recognising that the digital is woven through many aspects of education in the creative disciplines. The conference will include workshops and presentations on the following themes:
• Anxiety and Security in the curriculum
• Identity and Privacy in Online Educational Spaces
• Digital Presence and Professionalization
• Digital Wellbeing
Audrey Watters, freelance writer
Audrey Watters is a writer who focuses on education technology. She has worked in the education field for almost twenty years as a graduate student, college instructor, and program manager for an ed-tech non-profit.
George Siemens, Executive Director, LINK Lab, University of Texas Arlington
George is a writer, theorist, speaker, and researcher on learning, networks, technology, analytics and visualization, openness, and organizational effectiveness in digital environments.
Joel Towers, Executive Dean, Parsons School of Design
Joel has served as Dean of Parsons since April 2009. He has led the design and development of cutting-edge programs, curricular innovation, and the implementation of a new, more inclusive governance structure.

DeL is an international conference exploring the use of technology in art and design Higher Education. As digital technologies continue to transform the creative and pedagogic landscape, we face exciting possibilities and new challenges for the future of education. Themed ‘Anxiety and Security’, DeL 2016 aims to explore digital anxieties in art and design higher education, and collectively build ideas for reaching states of security and wellbeing.
