Day of Public Humanities (#DayofPH) invites public humanists to show their work. Join us on Tues, May 9th, 2017! A @publichumans project at Brown University.
#DayofPH is the hashtag we’ve chosen to use on this day of public outreach and visibility (it is very much influenced by the successful #DayofDH project in the field of digital humanities, as some of you may have guessed). Hashtags are particularly popular on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, but we imagine you might have other places where you’d use it as well.
Here’s how you can make the most of this hashtag on Tuesday, May 9th, 2017:
Introduce Yourself: Tell us what you do and how it fits (or doesn’t fit!) into this thing we’ve taken to calling “public humanities.” Circulate a link to your professional web site or some recent work you’re proud of.
Show Your Work: Day of PH is all about making the range of work we do more visible. Take a photo of your workspace! A screenshot of your (probably busy!) calendar! Give us a sneak peek at some work in progress! And, of course, show us your To-Do List!
Meet Other “Public Humans”: Do you have any big questions or topics that you’d like to discuss with other public humanities practitioners? We’ll circulate some talking points over the course of the day on our Twitter account (@DayofPH), but you should feel free to introduce your own questions and conversation topics on the hashtag!
