This three-week working group aims to develop readings and methodologies of Critical Code Studies, which examines the extra-functional significance of computer source code.

The 2012 forum-based online working group is the follow-up to the highly successful CCSWG (2010), which brought together a community of researchers in waysleading to later scholarly presentations, papers, and book projects. It also led to a vibrant discussion in the HASTAC scholar forums in 2011.

Threads from CCSWG 2010 were later published in electronic book review. Read more about the first CCSWG here (http://www.electronicbookreview.com/thread/firstperson/ningislanded).  The CCSWG is sponsored by the Humanities and Critical Code Studies Lab at USC (http://haccslab.com).
