1. JOB PURPOSE
Under general supervision, designs, develops, installs, documents, and modifies systems and software for teaching and learning and performs system analysis and configuration. Maintains systems for optimum operating efficiency. Provides technical guidance and leadership to users and CCIT staff, as well as provides senior technical support and troubleshooting assistance to service technicians and other systems team members.
2. JOB FUNCTIONS
Design, program, and document audio/visual and control systems for classrooms, conferencing, and collaboration facilities. Provide high level support for these projects including detailed information related to the installation and service of these systems. E/45%
Design, program and support integrated computing systems and collaboration technologies used for teaching and learning. Provide on-call high level systems support. Work with other hardware and software technical personnel to identify and resolve problems. Debug and test system and system software packages. Integrate computing systems with other supported applications and systems including databases, audio/visual systems, monitoring, etc. Apply change management and communicate with affected technical staff for system upgrades and maintenance . ONLINE LEARNING SYSTEMS
Work closely with CCIT staff, faculty and other groups to design, create and support online learning systems, web applications, video streaming and other multimedia components used in the delivery of . Provide research and development for enhancement to new and existing Clemson University multimedia, collaboration and distance education systems. Conducts feasibility studies and project management on special projects and initiatives. Maintain system integrity and compliance with CCIT computing standards related to network, web design, interface and disaster recovery. E/15%
Maintain information on all systems, outlining policies and procedures for configuration and maintenance. Review technical releases and determine if new features warrant upgrades and meet current needs and standards. Make recommendations to CCIT management and university user community. E/10%

A high school diploma and experience in the design, modification and maintenance of AV systems and software. A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field may be substituted for required work experience. Documentable experience in creating and reading AutoCAD drawings is required.
PREFERRED IN ADDITION TO THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Preferred in addition to the minimum: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and at least 4 years of experience; or Associate degree and at least 6 years of experience. InfoComm Certified Technology Specialist certification (CTS), CTS-D (Design). Experience with audio/visual systems design and control programming such as Crestron or AMX. Experience using a ticket management system, leading and documenting projects, and producing design drawings.
Under general supervision, employee must have excellent problem solving abilities and extensive knowledge of computer systems. Broad insight and understanding of current technologies and customer service. Requires a high level of technical maturity and strong communication and organization skills.
Ability to move up to 50 lbs.
PAY & WORK SCHEDULE:
Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 07 ($ 46,169.00 - $ 85,417.00)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Extensive knowledge of computing hardware, software, network, University information and communication systems. Knowledge of methods of system analysis for determining equipment configurations. Knowledge of software testing and debugging. Ability to establish working relationships with vendors, staff members and users. Must have experience with Web & Video conferencing and other systems used for collaboration; control system programming and server application configuration. Must have strong communications skills and the ability to work with a team.
